Hull City dismiss Steve McClaren speculation
Hull City have dismissed speculation that Steve McClaren will replace Steve Bruce as manager of the club.
Reports emerged today that Hull City had held talks with the former England, Middlesbrough and Newcastle United manager about possibly becoming Bruce’s successor.
The BBC`s Mike White said that he understood the owners had held “informal discussions” with McClaren when Bruce was interviewed for the England job.
White said on Radio Humberside that there was still a “distinct and strong possibility” McClaren was still in the running for the Hull City job but the club had not spoken further to the former Derby boss.

The 55-year-old is a former Hull City player, making nearly 200 appearances for the Tigers between 1975 and 1985.
McClaren has not managed since he was sacked from Newcastle United last season, but he may be eager to give the Premier League another shot and build his reputation back up after a couple of hard jobs in recent years.
