Hull City begin 2017 with a tough away fixture to the Midlands to face West Brom, a team having a good first half of the season in the top-half of the Premier League.
The Tigers can go level with Crystal Palace on 16 points and up to 18th place in the table if they win, while West Brom could move up to seventh in the league with a win.
The Baggies are the first side that Hull will come up against for a second time in the league in 2016-17, with the reverse fixture ending 1-1 after Hull claimed a second-half reprieve from an awful first 45 minutes. Head coach Mike Phelan will surely be looking to avoid a similar start in this game.
Hull should have a number of available players with striker Abel Hernandez remaining as the only short-term injury concern while others continue their paths back from recovering from other long-term injuries.
Here is our predicted XI for the match as we continue to try and guess what Phelan has up his sleeve for the game.
23. David Marshall
Marshall ended 2016 without a Hull clean sheet and may be under pressure from fans after a mistake against Everton last time out.
6. Curtis Davies
Davies returns to the club where he played at between 2005-2008, making 73 appearances in all competitions.
21. Michael Dawson
Dawson is now the second-highest goalscorer at the club (four goals), only behind Robert Snodgrass in the list of top scorers.
5. Harry Maguire
Maguire was one of the standout performers against Everton in the last game, getting forward with runs and hassling the opposition.
27. Ahmed Elmohamady
Elmohamady should start his final game before going to the African Cup of Nations with Egypt.
14. Jake Livermore
A start for Livermore would see him play 20 games in a league season for the fourth consecutive year.
8. Tom Huddlestone
The side’s last game against Everton was the first time in five matches that Huddlestone did not start.
20. Adama Diomande
Diomande has made the most league appearances of any Hull striker this season (11 as starter, 5 as sub).
10. Robert Snodgrass
Snodgrass should again be one of the biggest threats on the pitch for the Baggies to defend.
18. Dieumerci Mbokani
Phelan could make the most of Mbokani before he jets off to the African Cup of Nations with DR Congo. Should provide a physical presence against the Baggies’ defenders.
