Olympiakos’ Omar Elabdellaoui has become Hull’s fourth signing of the January transfer window, the club has confirmed.

The right-back moves to the KCOM Stadium on a loan deal until the end of the season. He will wear the number 14 shirt that has been vacated by Jake Livermore moving to West Brom.

Elabdellaoui should fit in well in the club’s playing style, knowing Hull head coach Marco Silva from working under his coaching methods at Olympiakos betweeen 2015 and 2016.

He also knows new team-mates Adama Diomande and Markus Henriksen having played with the two in the Norwegian national side.

His time at the club will be his second spell in English football having started his career at Manchester City, making no appearances for the club, before loan moves to Stromsgodset, Feyenoord and Eintracht Braunschweig. The 25-year-old moved to the German side permanently in 2013 before a switch to the Greek champions in 2014.

This signing fills a desperately need for cover for the right-back spot, with winger Ahmed Elmohamady spending the season in the position following the long-term injury of Moses Odubajo. Midfielder David Meyler has also filled in while Elmohamady has been away at the African Cup of Nations with Egypt.

He follows Markus Henriksen (undisclosed), Oumar Niasse (loan) and Evandro (undisclosed) in joining the club during the current window.
