There’s no doubt whatsoever that Hull City have to start picking up points in April to further their chances of staying in the Premier League next season.
The Tigers have shown some impressive form at the KCOM Stadium under new manager Marco Silva this year, picking up ten points from a possible thirteen, beating Bournemouth, Liverpool and Swansea City.
However, with a positive, there’s always a negative, and that’s the case with Hull City this season. The Tigers’ away form has been awful this season, picking up just five points all year.
Hull City are currently occupying 18th place in the Premier League table, three points behind Paul Clement’s Swansea City, and four points behind Sam Allardyce’s revived Crystal Palace.
Hull City have now 11 games to play in the Premier League, so here’s who we think the Tigers can grab all three points from in a push for Premier League football next season.
Will our total of predicted points be enough for Premier League safety?
West Ham (H)
The Hammers has been very poor in recent games, losing to Bournemouth and Leicester City.
I expect Hull to take the home advantage, and take all three points.
Hull City win.
Middlesborough (H)
I expect Hull City to take all three points against Middlesborough, with the Tyneside club struggling for goals – scoring just 20 goals in their 28 matches so far this season.
Hull City win.
Manchester City (A)
A draw would be excellent, however, Manchester City has shown how excellent they can be under Pep Guardiola.
With players like Leroy Sane, Aguero and Raheem Sterling all as attacking options, I expect Manchester City to take all three-points at the Etihad.
Manchester City win.
Stoke City (A)
Hull City has already shown what it takes to beat Stoke at the Britannia in their EFL Cup clash in September, with Markus Henriksen scoring a late goal in a 2-1 victory.
Stoke has been very inconsistent this season – winning just four of their last 10 and last winning two consecutive games at the start of January. I expect Hull to get a point.
Hull draw.
Watford (H)
Watford has been another team that have been very inconsistent this season.
I expect Hull to take home advantage as another positive, and pick up all three points.
Hull win.
Southampton (A)
The St Mary’s has been a very hard place to go to this season, with the Saints claiming 18 of their 33 points at home.
I expect Claude Puel’s team to get all three points after being able to cope against other relegation candidates at home, beating Middlesbrough 1-0 and drawing 1-1 with Sunderland.
Southampton win.
Sunderland (H)
This is a must-win game. Sunderland are bottom of the Premier League and, in my opinion, the three points are for the taking.
At the time of writing, the Black Cats have won just two of their last 10 away games in the league.
Hull win.
Crystal Palace (A)
Since Sam Allardyce’s appointment, Selhurst Park has been a very hard place to go too. At the time of writing, the side has taken three clean sheets in their last three games.
With our shambolic away form this season, I expect Crystal Palace to get all three points.
Crystal Palace win.
Tottenham (H)
The relegation battle could come to the very last game, and I expect Hull to show fight and determination and get all three points.
Tottenham could also potentially have their position in the top four secured by then and be relaxed in the game.
Hull win. The season ends with an optimistic total of 40 points.
